Award Winning Club

Well for those of you who don’t know, as well as having a day job, and a business to run part time, I also manage an owners club for the Nissan Elgrand – ElgrandOC.

Last weekend (13th-15th Sep) I attended a brand new Japanese Car Enthusiast Event called Yakushi. I attended with other Elgrand owners and had an absolutely fantastic weekend. The weather absolutely perfect for the time of year. The whole event atmosphere was incredible with everyone being respectful. None of the aggro you get with other older, bigger events.

On Saturday 14th I was called up to accept a trophy on behalf of the club. We won “Best Community” which is an absolute honour. I couldn’t be more proud of the members who banded together to support this new show. The fact that our community spirit was picked up by the show organisers is an honour. A truly special weekend, the memory of which will stay with me for years to come!

Nigel, the event organiser, has a mission statement of Cars, Clubs, Community. I think out of the three the Community pillar is the most vital. For me to have developed a club from nothing to winning an award like this is something I’d not thought possible. We all had an absolute blast at the event and we’re all thoroughly looking forward to returning in 2020.

If you’ve not heard of the event, check out for all the latest information.
